In 2019, Casa Lumbre, a renowned Mexican distiller known for its celebrity collaborations with figures like Lewis Hamilton, Lenny Kravitz, and Diego Boneta, approached CTMOBS with a unique opportunity. They sought to create a new, high-end mezcal brand headlined by a global Latin talent. CTMOBS, as an equity partner in this venture, played an instrumental role in securing Juan Luis Londoño, better known as Maluma, to partner in bringing this vision to life.
The Result:
Contraluz Mezcal, a premium spirit that blends the artistry of mezcal-making with Maluma’s global influence. This collaboration not only showcases a talent-driven IP in the world of consumer products but also highlights CTMOBS’ ability to create powerful cross-industry partnerships.
On the heels of the mezcal’s success, Casa Lumbre expanded the product line in 2025 by launching a premium tequila. They also introduced a special edition mezcal aged in sakura sake barrels, offering it at a premium price point. As an equity partner throughout this journey, CTMOBS has continued to drive the innovation and luxury that define the Contraluz brand, further solidifying its place in the high-end spirits market.
